During the 1200th Anniversary of the granting of the charter for St Peter’s Church, commemorative railings were erected on the wall beside the church’s south door. They are of a similar but simpler design to the one used for the Commemorative Panel in the Manor Gardens (Trail location #13). The dates 772 and 1972 together with a royal crown are recorded in the black ironwork of the three-panel design. An additional piece of railing, also of three panels, has since been added with the date 2006 incorporated into the design; this latter date is not known to be of any special significance.
